TWO'S ADVANCE IN THE JAMES BELL & DEFEAT TYNEMOUTH FOR TIMELY LEAGUE WIN.

Littletown 108-9 (15o) C Bennett 39, A Dhavala 20, J Wells 16: George Gray 2-19, Missy Banks 0-27, James Lunn 2-17, Ben Hobbs 2-9, Jacob McCord 0-12, Aditya Bethanabatla 3-27.
SNCC won by 14 runs.
Making their first ever visit to Littletown, SNCC chose to bat; the light determined a 15o/side game, max 3 overs per bowler. McCord & Charnley faced Wells & Crowder. Scoring at 6's the total had reached 37 when Charnley (17,14b 3x4) returning for a second, was run out by an excellent, direct hit from the boundary.
Jacob, scoring runs on the leg side, was then joined by Will Carr (36, 22b 4x4, 1x6) & the pair put together a partnership of 59. Will slog swept a 6, pulled & cover drove but at 96 he skied another attempted pull to be c & b by C Bennett.
Ru (4) succumbed to one that kept low at 100 also off C Bennett. Ben Sid (6*) kept Jacob company & the innings closed at 122-3 after 15 overs, Jacob (55* 43b, 4x4 2x6) a forthright innings peppering the legside.
Littletown openers Hodgkiss & C Bennett faced the off spin of George Gray & seam of Missy Banks. 18-1 when Hodgkiss swung George to deep mid wicket where Beh H took the catch. 32-2 when P Bennett lofted George to mid off where a retreating Ru held on.
A determined partnership of 34 between C Bennett & Dhavala (20) ended when Dhavala was caught by Ru, diving forward at long off, Lunny the bowler, 66-3. Three wickets then fell for 2 runs. Finn (1) was yorked by Ben Hobbs, Cassell (0) skied to point off Ben H where Alex C took the catch & Walmsley (0) 'wandered' to be stumped by w/k Steve Harper, 68-6.
C Bennett & Wells (16) took the score to 85 when C Bennett (39, 36b, 2x4 1x6) was caught by George Gray at deep square leg off Aditya Bethanabatla's medium pace. At 96 Crowder (2) swung Adi to deep mid wicket where Ben Sid took the catch. At 102 Wells advanced to Adi & missed to be stumped by Harper, 9 down. Dyer (6) & Sorrell (1*) were there at the end, 14 runs short on 108-9. Three wickets for Adi 2 for George, James & Ben H.
The next round is likely to be during w/c 2nd Sept away to Bill Quay.

SNCC 150-4 (30.1o) Alex Charnley 59*, Angus Southern 51, Alex Weetman 16: Andrew Smith 1-25, Neil Bennett 1-17, Sam Robson 0-31, Rohan George 0-16, Patrick Hallam 1-25, G Bogg 1-15.
SNCC won by 6 wickets - 24 points, Tynemouth 2.
The visitors were invited to bat. Turner & George Stewart faced the seam of Allan Davidson & off spin of George Gray. Success for George in the 4th over as his namesake (1) was bowled. 10-2 in the 7th as Aditjandra (1) was lbw to Allan. 22-3 in the 9th as P Hallam (2) was bowled by an Allan inswinger. 44-4 when Turner (20) succumbed to a Will Young leg stump yorker. There was a bit of movement on offer for the bowlers.
A partnership of 54 between Lineham & Robson withstood a tight spell from Lunny & it was James Ruddick who provided the breakthrough. Having been despatched for 6 first ball by Robson (24, 45b 2x4 1x6) a full pitched delivery bowled him in the 28th over, 98-5.
George Gray returned & Andrew Smith (4) edged a back foot force to be very well caught, low by w/k Angus, 112-6 in the 32nd. Lineham (47, 70b,2x4,1x6) had been accumulating but not rotating & then at 131 in the 36th driving, he was bowled by George. 6 runs & 3 overs later Graeme Hallam ( 7) skied Will to cover where Allan took the catch,137-8.
Ru then returned & took two in two in the 42nd over. Bogg (8) top edged for a retreating w/k Angus to take a good catch over his shoulder & next ball Bennett (0) was lbw, 148ao. 29 extras, including 14 wides, were second top score !
In reply the Bulls lost Jan (0) playing forward, lbw in the first over & after one timed, clipped boundary to square leg, Will Carr (4) seemed to be beaten for pace & bowled by Bennett as the ball skidded on, 21-2 in the 6th over. Alex Charnley & Angus Southern then put together a match defining partnership of 86. Both in good form, this left & right combination stroked to both sides of the wicket with drives, pulls & cuts.
At 107 in the 22nd over, Angus (51, 52b, 7x4 1x6) hit leg spinner P Hallam to mid wicket where Smith made good ground & took a diving catch. Alex Weetman joined Alex Charnley & the pair added 29 before Alex W (16, 27b 2x4) was bowled by an unexpected quicker one from Bogg, 136-4.
Charners (59*, 86b, 6x4) & Ru (1*) saw the Bulls home comfortably in the 31st over. A good win sees the 2's rise two places to 7th in Division 2 on 231 points.
