ROSEWORTH BULLS MAINTAIN THEIR UNBEATEN START

22nd May 2018

Belmonte 112-5 (D Cragg 3-29)

SNCC 113-6 (Cam Skinner 35*)

SNCC won by 4 wickets

The Midweek XI made it 4 wins from 4 and maintained their unbeaten start to the 2018 campaign after a keenly contested game against Belmonte at Roseworth Terrace.

The visitors ran up 112-5 from their 14 (8 ball) overs thanks in no small part to some lusty hitting from opener M Burton (52). For SNCC, wily veteran Dave Cragg was the clear pick of the bowlers, taking 3-29. Cal Fletcher (0-22) and Cam Skinner (1-17) were effervescent and threatened regularly in the first half of the Belmonte innings before captain Simon West (1-43) took some punishment in the closing overs.

In reply, SNCC lost three early wickets before the implacable James Brown (13) steadied the ship. The SNCC innings was then given impetus by Cal Fletcher (25) and Cam Skinner (35 not out), the latter ably supported in the tense closing stages by Ben Jones-Lee (12) and Ben Sidney-Wilmot (8*).

SNCC took 2 runs from the penultimate ball of the game to complete a hugely satisfying and successful chase. Both teams will no doubt be looking forward to the return fixture.
