23rd Nov 2021

Following in the footsteps of John Graham (2002), Stephen Humble (2006) & Jonny Wightman (2014), Sol Bell was voted NEPL Premier Division Player of the Year at the end of season dinner on Friday 19th November, at the Hilton Hotel, Gateshead.

A strong shortlist completed by Scotland captain, Kyle Coetzer (Benwell Hill), John Oswell (Burnopfield) & Ryan Pringle (Burnmoor) saw Sol (20) emerge victorious after a season of 779 runs @ 59.92, including three consecutive league centuries, the first time this has been done since 2001, three 50's & feature in 5 over 100 partnerships with Simon Birtwisle (2), Michael Richardson (2) & Chris Hewison.

Sol's outstanding performance contributed greatly to the achievement of a 13th Premier Division Champion title in 21 years. A proud moment for Sol, for all the 1st X1 who played equally important roles in many instances & for SNCC.

We must continue!

Duncan.
