Bell and Paton join South North
12th December 2020
South Northumberland Cricket Club are delighted that Sol Bell and Gavin Paton will be joining us ahead of the 2021 season...
10th May 2018
SNCC 129- 6 ( Bobby Green 41 , Ben Sidney Wilmot 32, David Harbottle 18, James Brown 17)
South Shields Bangladeshi 99-8 ( David Parker 4-24, Owen Hollins 2, Cam Skinner 1, David Harbottle 1)
After Captain Tom Seymour's first ball caught behind, Bobby Green & James Brown prospered. Gently run singles were mixed with well struck boundaries against very enthusiastic opponents. Ben Sidney Wilmot continued the fast scoring & David Harbottle concluded with some powerful strokes.
SSB were always slightly behind the rate as Skinner, Hollins, Seymour & David Harbottle wheeled away. Two wickets for Super O led to the introduction of David Parker's leg breaks which bamboozled, taking 4-24, two in two at one point.
SNCC 110-4 ( Bobby Green 42*, James Brown 17, Tom Seymour, Tris Meears White, Cam Skinner in the teens)
EAGA Old Boys 86-8 ( Tom Seymour 5-12, Mikey Craigs 2, one run out)
A friendly spirited game was preceded by a heavy shower leaving the outfield wet & slow. Good placement & running were a feature of the SN innings in which Bobby Green, strong off his legs & manoeuvring the ball into gaps, carried his bat for 42*. He was ably supported by James Brown, Tris Meears White, Tom Seymour & Cam Skinner.
Tight early overs from Seymour & Mikey Craigs got EAGA behind the rate which ultimately led to a flurry of wickets as the innings progressed. Tom Seymour finished with a magnificent 5-12 off 4 overs, two for Mikey Craigs & a run out. Man of the match Bobby Green.
The next game is against Bel Monte CC (Belmont Community Centre) at home week commencing 14th May
