An emphatic victory for the Bulls after the visitors threatened to race away after a 100 run opening stand by their Australians Rothrie (40) & Rochaw (57*) as Danny Collins & Joseph Dresser toiled. But learning to stay in the game when under pressure & two wickets changed the nature of the conrest as Rothrie was caught at square leg by Joseph Dresser off Andrew Doig & then Tom Seymour bowled Dullagan (5), O'Brien (0) & snared Tinlin (0) lbw.
Doig then bowled Watson (5) & although Rochaw (57*) continued the momentum had shifted & Matt Williams & then Daylen Deen-Williams, on debut swinging it nicely into the right handers, took two wickets in his only over- King (6) lbw & Smith (0) caught & bowled. Stobswood finished on 122-7 after twenty overs, three wickets for Tom, two for Andrew & two for Daylen, a much improved intensity in the field, building pressure & leading to wickets.
In reply captain Tom Seymour was in a destructive mood, driving powerfully down the ground as he & Stephen Harper amassed 88 in only the10th over when Stephen (26, 21b 5x4, often cutting through point) was lbw to King, Tom on 51*.
Joseph Dresser then struck 6x4 to mid wicket & square leg amassing 25* in only 9 balls. Tom meanwhile had moved to 69* (31b, 9x4, 2x6) & the 9 wicket win was achieved after 3 balls of only the 13th over.
This win leaves the midweek Bulls in second place on 54 points behind Ashington on 65 after 8 games.
