The successful candidate will need to build upon the foundations that are in place and continue to grow and improve the development pathway at the Club.

If the successful applicant it still wanting to play cricket, we would expect them to represent the club.

About the Club

South Northumberland Cricket Club is a club based in Newcastle upon Tyne whose teams play primarily in the North East Premier League. Since its formation it has been the Premier League’s most successful club, with the 1st XI winning the league championship ten times since 2003.  In 2016 the 1st XI won the National Club Championship for the third time in eleven seasons, claiming the title of best club side in Britain.

We field 3 men’s senior teams on a Saturday - the 1st and 2nd XIs in the North East Premier League and our 3rd XI in the First Division of the West Tyne League – and a NEPL Academy team on a Sunday.

We also have a growing Women’s and Girls’ section which we are keen to develop further. We field two women’s teams and a girls U14 side who reached the semi-final of the Lord Taverner’s national competition in 2019. In addition, we have over 300 boys in our junior section and over 100 women and girls playing cricket. Many of these players play county and district representative cricket.

We provide year-round coaching and playing facilities through our indoor cricket school, operated through our wholly owned subsidiary Newcastle Cricket Centre Limited.

The club is seeking to recruit a Director of Coaching to oversee the provision of both Senior and Elite junior cricket across the club and the cricket centre.
