SNCC won by 46 runs- to finals day on Sun 13th July (venue tbc)

Choosing to bat the Bulls set off well mainly thanks to David Edwards who opened with Sol Bell, against the seam of Watt & Ralston. 27 after 4 overs but as Abbas & Talbot entered the attack Sol (12) was bowled by Abbas, 38-1 in the 6th.

This became 49-2 as Rob Peyton (6) was caught by Walker off Talbot in the 7th. David & Hewi found run scoring tricky & both fell, David (32, 30b 3x4 1x6)was bowled by Abbas & Hewi (6 ) edged to w/k Clay of Talbot, 59-4 at the beginning of the 11th.

But then a sparkling partnership of 91, in a little over 7 overs, between Adam & Nathan put the Bulls in control as all the bowlers suffered. Adam sweeping & plundering the onside & Nathan driving straight took 19 off Burdon's second- Nathan 6,1 Adam 6,6 & the same off Moulder's first, Craggy striking 4,4,4,6.

At 150 in the 19th Nathan 35 (23b 2x4 1x6) was caught by Walker off Ralston. The 20th bowled by Moulder went for 12 as Oli (5*) joined in. Adam finished 63* ( 27b, 7x4 4x6) a commanding display 165-5, defendable!

In reply Walker & Abbas faced Wightman & Hoffmeister. Jonny's first 3 overs went for only 5. But for a no ball his third would have been a maiden! Cody conceded 13 off his first but in his second Abbas (9) was lbw to a full ball,18-1.

Gavin Paton joined the attack in over 6 & in two overs took three wickets, all caught by w/k Rob Peyton. Clay (0) edged a faster one that bounced a bit, Walker (9) aiming to cut, top edged & Ralston (3) pushing forward, gloved behind in his second, 23-4, the Lyons in a hole!

Talbot then struck 4,4,4 off Gav, 44-4 after10 overs. Tom Jones suffered as Talbot took 4, 6 & the total had risen to 75 in the 15th when Moulder (23) edged Wighters only to see Rob, diving to his right, take a very good catch,  his fourth of the innings, 5 down.

Nathan bowled overs 16 & 18 & in his second Dixon (7) was caught by Tom Jones, 97-6. In the last, two wickets for Tom as Talbot (54, 37b 6x4 3x6) who had batted very well, was caught by Oli, 110-7 & then Watt (9) was stumped by Rob, 119-8.

A comprehensive 49 run win. On to finals day Sunday 13th July  with Burnmoor, CLS & Burnopfield at a venue to be decided. Do save the day, it will be exciting.

Duncan.
