A tough day for the Bulls at sunny Ashington, as a lost toss, a short leg side boundary, only 10 players, a youthful side & attacking batting on a fast outfield put the visitors under pressure which their bowling, fielding & catching was unable to contain.

An opening partnership of 63 between Nichol & J Storey (31) ended when Storey was caught by Angus off George & then Nichol (22) was lbw to Sadiq. Turnbull & Potts then built a partnership of 171 for the 3rd wicket taking the game away from the Bulls.

At 234 Turnbull (56) was caught off George but Potts & M Storey pushed on, the former reaching a deserved 100, but at 274 he was caught by Simon off Sadiq for an outstanding 117. As batsmen attacked Sadiq bowled Robinson (19) & M Storey (20) at 293 & 294.

Varun had A Nice (4) caught by Lunny at 304 & bowled Smith (6) at 320. The innings closed at 328-8 after 40 overs.... formidable !!

Jacob McCord & Alex Charnley faced Alex Nice & Cam Skinner. At 18, Alex C was caught by Walker off Nice. A splendid partnership of 88 between Jacob & Angus ended at 106 when Jacob (60, 75b, 10x4) was bowled by Smith.

Angus & Sadiq pushed on, the latter attacking in trademark style in a partnership of 59, but at 175 he was caught by J Storey off Skinner for 32 (19b,2x4,3x6). Will (10) was bowled by Walker at 190 & sadly Angus's good innings 69 (71b,7x4,1x6) came to an end at 196 when he was run out by Potts.

Bowling changes continued & Aadesh (20) was caught by J Storey off Potts at 220. Lunny (19*) & Varun (14*) pushed on but the overs ran out with final total on 246.

Work to do to achieve a balanced & available side; & to bowl & field consistently under pressure. We must continue & be determined to improve !!

Duncan.
