BULLS RACE TO BIG WIN OVER BLYTH - A COLLINS & SEYMOUR FAMILY AFFAIR.

SNCC 138-2 (16o) Tom Seymour 58, Will Oliver 38*, Joe Dresser 30*: M Petherbridge 0-19, S Coser 0-24, M Bromilow 1-31, S Singh 1-38, E Mills 0-19.
Blyth 50ao (14o) S Coser 20, E Mills 13: Danny Collins 3-1, Tom Oliver 1-5, Lucas Collins 3-23, Jack Seymour 3-18.
SNCC won by 88 runs - 10 points, Blyth 0.
A sunny evening at Roseworth Terrace witnessed a family affair for the Collins' & the Seymour's as the midweek Bulls raced to 138-2 in 16 overs, Tom Seymour 58, & then dismissed Blyth for 50 with, Danny & son Lucas Collins taking three wickets each, including a caught dad bowled son, & Jack Seymour finishing the innings with three wickets in his third over! Lucas on debut & Jack's first senior wickets at SNCC!
The Bulls won the toss & chose to bat. Tom Seymour & Will Oliver faced Petherbridge & Coser. A steady start, 14-0 after 4 overs, but acceleration by Tom such that the total had risen to 48 after 8 overs as Bromilow & Singh began spells.
68 without loss after 10 overs but in the 11th Tom (58,34b,6x4,3x6) driving freely, was bowled by a Bromilow slower ball. Tris Meears-White (0) was bowled by Singh in the next, 82-2, but Will Oliver & Joe Dresser kept up the run rate striking 48 from the last 4 overs, Will 38* (43b,5x4) & Joe 30* (18b, 3x4,1x6), the Bulls138-2 at the close.
Blyth openers Lycett & Scope faced the left arm seam of Danny Collins & Tom Oliver. They were soon in a hole falling to 8-4 at the end of the 6th over. Danny 3, Tom 1 - all bowled.
In over 7 Lucas Collins (rm) had Brown (3) caught by father Danny in the covers. Overs 9-14 were bowled by Lucas & Jack Seymour (rm). Bromilow (0) was caught high by Joe Dresser at square leg off Lucas in the 9th, 9-6. Some respite in overs 10 &11 as Coser & Mills struck boundaries but in the 13th Mills (13) edged Lucas to w/k Steve Harper, a sharp chance taken standing up, 44-7.
In the 14th Jack Seymour took wickets with his second, fourth & sixth deliveries, two caught by Joe Dresser at short extra & J Armstrong bowled to end the innings !! C'est magnifiques mes amis! Two wins sees the Bulls joint top with Ashington on 19 points.
Onward to next Tues 6th May, SNCC v Bomarsund (a) start 1800 in the Tom Barlow Cup. We hope you may be there to cheer the team on.
