Match abandoned (rain) - SNCC 9 points, Tynemouth 7.

After bowling the visitors out a disappointing conclusion as the weather intervened with the Bulls seeming to have every prospect of overtaking the Tynemouth total of 174 ao in the revised 48 overs available.

A humid day with rain threatened later, on winning the toss the Bulls chose to field. Debnam & McAlindon faced Wightman & Hoffmeister. A steady start, 25 from 9 overs as Paton & Alexander entered the attack. Then two wickets in two overs as Debnam (17), aiming to cut Alexander, edged to w/k Peyton, 29-1.

In the next, a ball after w/k Rob had stood up to Paton, Bowman (0) on the crease, played on 30-2. Two maidens in succession then in the 18th McAlindon (27) edged Paton toward slip where Birty took a good catch one handed, diving forward, 47-3.

Kimmitt & Brown pushed on Will suffered in over 21 conceding 17. Hoffmeister & Wightman rejoined the attack & again two wickets in two overs as Kimmitt (17) edged Wighters to w/k Rob standing up & in the next Brown (23) was bowled by Cody, one that moved in & nipped away, 85-5.

As Oli McGee began a spell rain began. Will began a 4 over spell & in the second B Stewart (7) was bowled as the ball held its line. In the next Snowdon (14) was deemed run out as his blocked shot off Oli prompted the thought of a run & he set off, but the ball rebounded toward the stumps & w/k Rob was alert to whip off the bails, 116-7 after 37 overs.

Rain again at 40 overs as Dan McGee, facing brother Oli, & Longstaff were positive. Will suffering again, 140-7. Oli continued then Gavin & Jonny & it was  Gav who bowled McGee (27) in the 46th heaving but missing. In the next Wighters took two wickets in two balls as Konthoujam (6) lost his middle stump & next ball Pollard (0) was lbw to a full delivery, 174ao, Longstaff 28* (30b, 1x4, 1x6) in 46.4o.

Those three wickets take Jonny to 546 Premier league wickets, one behind Stephen Humble's total of 547.

In reply Rob Peyton & Sol Bell faced the seam of Konthoujam & Longstaff. At 13 without loss rain, between 1610-1651, shortened the innings to 48 overs. Rain again after 7.2 overs with the Bulls 30-0, Rob 17* Sol 13* & seemingly on course. Sadly there was no respite & after waiting, the match was abandoned.
