Burnmoor won by 22 runs - 23 points, SNCC 4.
A strong sense of 'deja vu' as events unfolded as in 2023. The hosts invited to bat first on a bowler friendly surface, slipping to 94-9, as Marcus Brown's determined 100 ball vigil for 38 ended, then putting together a last wicket partnership of 31, Craig Stephenson hitting 25, Alec Linsley 7*, to be 125ao.
Chasing at 50 -2 with Sol & Hewi going well, then losing both in three overs, Waqas Maqsood bowling 16 overs for only 16 runs with 5 maidens, Graeme Bridge chipping in with 4 wickets & Mitch Killeen finishing the job with the last two in the 41st over to secure a 22 run win & 23 points to cement their table topping spot.
A steady start, only 15 in the 11th then Greenwell (11,33b) was caught by Sean off Oli. Pringle (15,23b) hit a 6 but at 43 in the 20th was bowled by Oli. Killeen (1,5b) succumbed to Tom in the next & 3 balls later Poynter (4) was lbw to Tom, 48-4.
48-5 as Worthy (0) was bowled by Tom in the 23rd over. 63-6 when Coughlin(6,19b) was caught by Adam off Oli in the 28th. 73-7 in the 34th as Maqsood (2,16b) was caught by Tom off Jonny. 8 down when Bridge (4,7b) was lbw to Tom in the 35th.
Brown's excellent vigil (38, 100b 3x4) ended in the 38th bowled by Jonny. Then Stephenson (25, 33b,2x4,1x6) & Linsley put together 31 for the last wicket before Stephenson's valuable innings ended when he was caught by Sean off Oli in the 45th over.
A similar pattern to the SN innings. Birty & Sol got to 11 in the 7th when Birty (7,28b,1x4) was bowled by Coughlin. In the 14th Nik (5,20b) was also bowled by Coughlin, 19-2. Greenwell's only over went for 14 as Hewi hit 4+6 but in the 20th Sol (22,49b,3x4) turned Bridge to Pringle at mid wicket. In the 21st Hewi (21,26b,1x4,2x6) drove Maqsood to mid on where Poynter took the catch, 58-4.
In the 25th Adam (6,12b) edged Maqsood to first slip where Worthy took the catch & in the next Sean (6,15b) was lbw to Bridge, 70-6. In the 32nd Tom (8,22b) was bowled by Bridge, 81-7. A partnership of 17 between Rob & Oli ended in the 38th as Rob (11,34b,1x4) was bowled by Bridge.
In the 41st Killeen took two in 2 balls as both Jonny (1) & Lee (0) were bowled. Another cautionary tale at the Village ground. We battled but did we adapt well enough on a difficult wicket ?
4 points leaves the Bulls in 6th place ahead of two Tynemouth games:
Thursday 6th June NEPL T20 group f: SN (12 points) v Tynemouth (8 points) (a) winner to go through to the ¼ final on Friday 28th June.
Saturday 8th June Premier Division: SN v Tynemouth (h) 110o, w/l/d
We hope you can be there.

SNCC win by 122 runs- play Woodlands (h) Sun 16th June regional final. 1300, 40/40.
Chris Hewison's magnificent 154 (113b, 15x4, 8x6) & a partnership of 161 with Sean Tindale (54,78b,5x4,1x6) for the 4th wicket rescued the Bulls from a parlous 25-3 after only 5 overs.
Sol (0) was bowled by Peakman in the 2nd, 4-1. After Nik had taken 2,4,3 Birty (4) mistimed a pull off J Minto to lob to square leg in the 3rd over. Hewi seemed to escape in the 4th as w/k & first slip missed a chance off Peakman then Nik (16) copied Birty in the 5th, 25-3.
Things settled, 50-3 after 10 overs. Hewi, hitting the sla of T Minto straight for 4 & 6 & pulling L Symington for 6 to square leg, reached 50* in the 18th over, Sean 23*, 113-3 at half way.
The sla of Minto & the leg spin of Slatcher continued. A life for Hewi on 65 in the 24th as a chance to deep mid wicket off Slatcher was spilled. In the same over Sean drove 2x4 to extra cover & through mid on. A life for Sean in the 28th as the fielder at deep mid wicket appeared to palm the ball over the boundary for 6, again off Slatcher;176 after 30 overs.
Sean reached a deserved 50 in the 31st but two overs later drove Thomas's off spin to Minto T at long off; 54,78b,5x4,1x6) a vital contribution in a partnership of 161.
Peakman returned in the 36th which Hewi despatched emphatically straight, either side of the Grove end sightscreen, for 6,4,6,4,6,6 !! Wow !! 32 from the over as the score rose to 235. Two wickets in the 37th as Adam (13) reversing, lobbed to backward point & Tom (0) hit his first ball high to wide long on, both wickets to Thomas, 247-6.
Hewi magnificent knock ended at 262 as he struck to long off where Minto T took the chance. In the last over Rob drove, the bowler's shin diverted the ball onto the non striker's stumps but the umpires deemed that the pair had not crossed so Oli (0) was unlucky to be runout ! Rob 17* at the end on 273-8.
Burgum & J Minto faced Rogers (Grove) & Tindale (Park). 14-1 in the 7th as Burgum (4) edged Tom to w/k Rob. 28-2 in the 10th as Emmerson (4) was yorked by Sean. Symington L & Minto J continued as Will Alexander & Lee Cozier took up the attack. At 71 in the 19th Symington (33,28b,4x4) edged Oli to w/k Rob.
Lee bowled Thomas (18) in the 24th, 96-4. Birty began a spell from the Park end in the 28th & his 3rd ball bowled C Symington (2) attempting to reverse, 110-5. In Oli's last, James Minto's valiant effort (49,80b, 6x4) with good use of the feet to the spinners, ended as he was bowled aiming to mid wicket, 126-6.
Will Alexander returned in tandem with Birty & took three wickets in 3.1 overs, Birty the other. Cross (13) edged Will to w/k Rob in the 33rd, 135-7. Peakman (9) was caught by Hewi at deep mid on off Will, 147-8. Thomas (9) was neatly caught, low on follow through by Birty at the same score & Will persuaded T Minto to miss hook the first ball of the 39th to lob another catch to Rob. Will 3-41 in 7.1o, Birty 2-12 in 6o.
A comprehensive win by 122 runs, Norton will rue their missed chances & the Bulls will know that regional final opponents Woodlands on Sun 16th June 1300, 40/40 may not be as generous. The national journey continues but bouncing back in the league v Tynemouth (h) next Sat 8th June is vital.
We hope to see you there.
Duncan.
