SN won the toss & batted. Simon Birtwisle & Sean Tindale faced the right arm seam of Jack McBeth & Robert Talbot. Well forward, Birty (0) seemed unlucky to be adjudged lbw to the third ball of the first McBeth over but Chris Hewison struck the 4th & 5th balls for 4 which settled him. Batting positively &running well on a slow pitch with uneven bounce the partnership had reached an important 56 when Tindale (37) was bowled by a Connor Whitelock off break in his 3rd over. 2001 premier league runs for Sean !

Adam Cragg joined Hewy & the pair driving, sweeping, reversing & running well took the score to 149 at lunch after 37 overs. At 169 a Sam dinning yorker bowled Chris (72) & 10 runs later Adam was adjudged lbw to Talbot bowling round the wicket. 179-4 in the 44th. 

In search of 200 the innings rather fell away with batsman looking to score on a difficult wicket. John Graham(3) also lbw to Talbot, Rob Peyton (0) adjudged caught down the leg side, Jacques Du Toit (8) caught in the deep & Oli McGee (1) bowled by McBeth leaving James Ruddick (3*) & Jonny Wightman (7) to take the total towards the 200 mark but declaring when Jonny was run out after 49.4overs.

Marcus Brown & captain Dean Musther faced the pace of Jonny Wightman & Sean Tindale from the Church Road End. With the score at 3 in the third over Musther (0) was adjudged lbw to Wightman. A good spell from Jonny whose first 4 overs went for only 2. Sean reciprocated & in his 4th Sam Dinning gloved behind, Rob Peyton taking the catch. 10-2.  One run later Henderson (1) overbalanced & was very well stumped by Peyton standing up to Wightman. 11-3 

Lee Crozier began a miserly spell from the Road end & in his 2nd over had two in two as Burlinson was lbw to one that crept &, next ball, Talbot was bowled playing around a full delivery. 22-5. A partnership of 20 between Brown & Easton promised until Easton was smartly stumped by Peyton down the leg side off Crozier. Whitelock (5) drove Crozier to Birty at cover 6 runs later. 48-7 in the 18th.

Tindale returned at the Scorebox end & pinned opener Brown (27) lbw. In his next over Pratt (2) was very well caught by Du Toit at first slip. The innings concluded from the 5th ball of the 22nd over as Crozier bowled Ebdale swinging. 67 all out, Lee 6.5-2-12-5, an admirable spell. The game finished at 1637.

29 points but Burnmoor took 25 in a 10 wicket win at Newcastle & Chester 30 points in their victory over Burnopfield leaving the Bulls 26 behind Burnmoor & 2 adrift of CLS with two games to go. Sacriston are the visitors to Roseworth Terrace on Sat 7th Sept 1115 start & Felling (a), also 1115 start concludes the league season on Sat 14th September. Let us finish strongly.
