2nd XI celebrate Banks Bowl Final win v Sacriston

Many congratulations to the 2nd XI who beat Sacriston 2nd XI today in emphatic style to win the Banks Bowl.
Sacriston won the toss and chose to bat first. Their innings never really got going and Sacriston were all out in 36.4 overs for 109. Extras was top scorer with 32 which included 24 wides! In all other respects the South North fielding was outstanding with Calum Fletcher, Ross Ward and Michael Harbottle all taking excellent catches.
Chasing 110 to win in 45 overs South North got off to a flying start and had reached 29 for 0 after only 3 overs. Runs continued to come quickly and despite the loss of 3 wickets South North reached the target in only 17.3 overs. A great innings by Andrew Doig saw him score 71 from only 47 balls with 5 4s and 6 6s.
A victory by 7 wickets.
