Benwell Hill won by 7 wickets - 20 points, 1864's 3.
Missing batters & experience, a young 1864 side were unable to repeat the heroics of 3 days earlier in the Saturday league match against Benwell Hill at Belsay.
Being asked to bat, the 64's lost Jack Patterson (4) at 15 lbw to Pounder & Will Carr (8) at 35, hitting to square leg, the latter to Maclauchlin who also bowled Jacob McCord (21) at 42 & trapped Jacques Graham lbw at 45, 4 down. Gregor (3) succumbed to a Robinson full pitch at 47.
There followed a spirited partnership of 28 between Jenny McDowell & Missy Banks until Missy (20,17b,3x4) hit to mid on off the spin of Chakrabarty at 75. Jenny's staunch knock (15, 52b,1x4) ended at 87 bowled by Mellor & at the same score Shayan Khan (5) drove Chakrabarty hard & was very well c & b.
Varun (16*) batted admirably but Chakrabarty snared Will Young (2) & Zach Henderson (1) bowling both with skiddy off spin. 103 all out after 33.3 overs.
An early wicket in reply as Missy c & b Hynd (1) which could have been 2 down if reactions had been faster to a ball in the air but then both Ladd & Ahmed hit strongly to the short boundary & the score mounted.
At 83 Ahmed (44, 41b, 4x4,2x6) was bowled by a Will Young in dipper & at 103 Ladd (45, 56b,6x4,1x6) was lbw to Khan's off spin. Maclauchlin (15*) & Khan (0*) completed the 7 wicket win in the 21st over.
The 64's have 55 points & are 5th in Division 1.
