SNCC 1864 151-8 (40o) Jan Ozmen 36, Patrick Hatcher 31, Kush Agarwal 27, Ahmer Hameed 18: Dan Tait 4-22, C Bertram 2-20.

Belsay 98ao (32.4o) E Gibson 16: Charlie Pemberton 3-29, Mo Shahbaz 2-18, Patrick Hatcher 2-9, Jack Netts 2-20, David Cragg 1-21.

SNCC won by 53 runs: 20points, Belsay 5.

Bottom of the table Belsay won the toss & chose to field. Belinda Wewalage & late call up Jack Patterson opened for the 64's, batting steadily. Jack (7) went at 17 & Belinda (11) at 18, Ahmer (18) rebuilt but went at 40 after 18 overs. The wicket was slow & boundaries hard to come by, such that the total had reached 73 in the 25th. Kush & Patrick pushed the score along until at 92, Kush (27) departed. Patrick & Jan accelerated; the captain particularly pleased to smite 3 x 6 over the short mid-wicket boundary. Their partnership had reached 47 when at 139 in the 36th both Patrick (31) & Jan (36) fell. Charlie (1) & Jack (7) chipped in so that the final total of 151-8 seemed to be a par score on an up & down wicket.

Belsay began with two boundaries but Charlie took a wicket, 10-1 as did Mo, 16-2, both bowling well at the left & right hander. A partnership of 26 but then two wickets went down at 42 as Charlie & Patrick struck. David Cragg took a wicket at 56 & then after a partnership of 23, Jack took two in an over at 79. The first athletically caught by David in one hand, over his shoulder, retreating at mid-wicket, wow!!, the second bowled.

Charlie got his third wicket at 83, Patrick his second at 97 & Mo finished the innings & secured the win, at 98. A creditable performance with only 10 players, one to build on. A slight upward movement in Division 1 but hopefully more certain availability will help performances & results.

The next game is at home to Newton on Sat 21th May.
