A sunny day at last & debuts for Melissa Banks, our New Zealand women's coach, & U15 left arm Tom Oliver. The visitors chose to bat on what looked like a decent surface, but, as the game progressed, perhaps inevitably given the weather in recent weeks, seemed to be slightly two paced & show some variable bounce.

Jacob McCord & Belinda Wewalage faced the right arm seam of Jack Garrett & Will Forster. Jacob (9), driving Garrett , was very well caught at second slip in the 3rd over.

Only 18-1 after 9 overs as the home side bowled 4 maidens. Acceleration in the 10th as Ben Sid, driving merrily, took 14 off Forster. Parkinson entered the attack in over 12 & in his 4th , Belinda (19) edged to w/k Renton, 61-2.

There followed an excellent partnership between Ben Sid & Will Garside  with the latter taking 3x4 off Moss in the 23rd. In the next Ben (43,57b,6x4) succumbed to one that kept low & was bowled by Parkinson, 99-3.

More acceleration from Will in the 27th as he drove & hit to mid wicket 3x4 off Moss only to fall to the same bowler for 43 (47b,7x4) driving to mid on,136-4 in the 31st over. 139 -5 as Jacques (11) defending, was bowled by the off spin of Garrett-Jowsey in the 33rd.

Simon West (8) was lbw to one that kept low in the 37th also off Garrett Jowsey & Arif Alam (2) also succumbed in similar fashion in over 39. Time for Patrick (6*) & Melissa (3*) to close at 160-7 after 40o, defendable.

Renton & Parkinson faced the right arm seam of Simon West & Melissa Banks. Humshaugh tend to attack from ball one so Melissa's first went for 14 but she responded well getting both openers out. At 29 in the 4th Renton (13) drove hard to mid off where Jacob took a good catch. After a Simon maiden she struck again, bowling Parkinson (15) with a beauty that nipped back, 33-2.

52-2 after 10 overs but in the next Jack Garrett (6) edged Patrick & w/k Ben Sid took a good catch, 53-3. David Cragg's slow left arm entered in over 12 & in over 13 Patrick yorked Moss (2), 4 down. Two wickets for David in the next as Rob Forster (18) was bowled as one drifted in & one run later Jerome Parker (0) was caught by Patrick at mid wicket, 57-6.

Jacques Graham's sla accounted for Ridley (1) in the next as he took a very good catch off his own bowling, 59-7. At the same score Will Forster(2) was bowled by David through the gate, 8 down.

U15 (lm)Tom Oliver bowled nicely in tandem with Jacques (sla) but Finn Garrett-Jowsey & Steve Arnup offered some positive strokes. David returned in over 26 with a maiden & one over later Patrick induced FG-J (24) to play on, 101-9.

The end was nigh & in his next Patrick bowled Rob Parker (3) leaving Steven Arnup 15*, 108 all out in just 28.2 overs.

A welcome 20 points for the 64's who move up to 5th.
