Northumberland won by 111 runs.
We are delighted to report that Will Carr (SNCC) led Northumberland's U13 X1 to a commanding victory over Cleveland with a sparkling 114* retired not out (91b 14x4, 3x6) on Thursday 25th May at Tynemouth CC.
A first wicket partnership of 41 with Bruce Reid was followed by a substantial 138 with Henry Newton until at 176, after 29 overs, Will retired not out to give others some batting time.
Judging length well, driving on both sides of the wicket, pulling fluently, but also surviving two chances, this was a splendid effort & we congratulate him, hoping there will be more to come.
Cleveland ended with a modest 121-9 after 40o, 9 bowlers were used, 7 of whom took a wicket plus two run outs, one to Henry & one to Will, a proper team effort.
