Young Bulls (U7 - U9)

Young Bulls - U7s and U9s

(Boys and Girls)

What we offer our junior players:

Early exposure to the core skills that develop hand/eye coordination and spatial awareness is critical to the long term athletic development of children. Through our junior coaching programmes, children from 5 years can learn new skills at their own pace in a fun, enjoyable environment. Through cricket, junior club members will develop balance and coordination, as well as cooperation and teamwork skills.

U7 - U9 cricket is treated as a separate sub-section of youth cricket. Softball cricket will be the basis of the U7s - U9s syllabus which will focus on the “ABCs” of cricket, athleticism, balance and coordination.

Age Groups will be assigned automatically with your child’s DOB.

  • U7s (Years 1 & 2)
  • U9s (Years 3 & 4)

Junior Training for U9s in Covid-19 affected Summer of 2020

We are delighted to be able to extend some junior cricket training in line with ECB Guidance to our U9s - as with other sectors, this will not be training as normal but will be adapted in light of the epidemic. We are confident that we can offer junior players U9 training in smaller, focused groups throughout the season which may be extended into late September 2020.

As at today's date junior training for U9s and U7s will comprise:

  • training sessions in smaller groups
  • sessions will start Friday 17th July
  • U7 training will be from 17:00 - 18:15
  • U9 training will be from 18:45 - 20:00

Players will be socially distanced during sessions and we will be following ECB Guidance at all times. You can read the full Guidance HERE. Further details will be e-mailed out to all members upon registration.

With effect from 13 June 2020, access to our outdoor nets and training facilities will only be available to Members who have registered and paid for the 2020 season.

We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to training soon!

Junior Membership is £55 for the full 2020 season.

Please note, that as we are a private members' club, for licensing purposes all adults on our premises while the bar is open must be members of the club - this means that for each junior member, a parent must also join as a parent social member for £15.  This enables you to accompany your child to training, use our bar facilities throughout the year when open, and keeps us legally compliant!
