Warkworth won by 6 wickets.
A sunny evening at Roseworth Terrace, runs galore as first Tom Seymour blasted 107* (60b,9x4, 6x6) assisted by Waheed Safi (29, 24b,1x4) to make the Bulls total a very respectable 160- 5 only to find that visiting Warkworth pro, South African Tristan Parnell matched this plunder with a powerful 96* (40b, 9x4, 8x6) supported by Luke McCurley 18 (18b, 4x4) & Ben Briggs (26* 31b, 5x4) in only 17.4 overs.
Winning the toss the Bulls chose to bat. Seymour & Harper faced the seam of Oli & George Bremner. Stephen (2) was bowled by George in the second over, 6-1. Tris Meears-White (3) was next to depart, bowled in Parnell's first 22-2, a wicket maiden.
16 from the next as Tom launched 6.6,4 & in company with Waheed, rotating well, the total was 58 after 10 overs. Parnell was economical but Briggs, Allan & Whittle suffered as Tom driving down the ground in trademark fashion saw 11,16, 14, 11, 10, 10, 11 from the next 7 overs, 141-2 after 17 overs.
Waheed (29) succumbed to a very good catch at fly slip by Rebecca Allan in the 19th off Oli Bremner & in the last Parnell took two in two as both Will Oliver (2) & Aadi (0) were bowled attacking.
In reply Warkworth were 23-0 after 3 overs but in the 4th McCurley was c & b by Manas. In the next two in two for Scott Alexander as first Oli Bremner (6) was caught by Aadi in the covers & next ball Titterington (0) was bowled, 31-3.
Manas bowled Andesron (4) in the 8th after which the total was 54. Then 16 from David Cragg in the 9th as Parnell cut loose & Will Oliver suffered similarly in the12th conceding 23, 112-4.
An unlikely, but welcome maiden for Waheed in the 14th but then 10, 6, 16 & 12 (2x6 to Parnell), as Warkworth eased to a 6 wicket win in the 18th over. Parnell (96*) well supported by Briggs (26*, 31b, 5x4).
Onward to Thursday 28th May SNCC V Ponteland (a) 1800, 20/20. The Midweek Bulls currently in 7th place in the league.
Do come along it is bound to be exciting !!
