Marton won by 6 wickets.

What might have been ! After the high of the previous day the Bulls posted a par score at a bouncy Harrogate. Then to have Marton at 23-3  after 5 overs with eventual match winner Gibson hardly laying a bat on the ball, to concede 29 in the first two overs of spin, & having got his range Gibson then smote 6x6 in overs 16,17 &18 to take the game away from the Bulls.

Being asked to bat, a strong start by Hewey & Sol, 37 for the first wicket & then, in over 5, catastrophe, a run out as Sol drove to extra cover & set off, Hewey not in the frame, was defeated at the w/k 's end.

A  dynamic partnership of 85 between Sol & Bushy rescued  the innings. 73-3 at halfway then at 102 in the in the 14th Bushy (41, 25b 6x4) advanced to Miller (ob) & was stumped. Thereafter, the remaining 6 overs yielded only 35 as Rob (2) chipped to wide long on in the next, 125-3.

Sol (70, 47b 7x41x6) succumbed in the 18th caught at long off. David (11) drove to long on in the 19th,  Will (1) drove to backward point & Oli  (6) was stumped in the last, 158-7, perhaps 30 short of what might have been the target.

But after 5 overs Marton were 23-3 as Wightman stuck out a hand to run out the non striker Hutchinson (5) in the second, 7-1. Then in the 4th uprooted Shaw's (15) off stump with a perfect yorker. In his first Will Alexander pinned Hodgkinson (6) lbw & conceded only 6 in his first two overs as Gibson fretted. Miller began with 4x4 in his first 7 balls, through cover & third man.

54-3 after 8 overs but the next two overs of spin saw Nicky go for14 & Oli for 15 as Gibson hit 3x6 & 1x4. Will Phillips was tidy conceding 5 singles & in his second Miller (36, 25b 6x4) was caught at long off by Nathan, 102-4, a partnership of 79 ended.

Wighters leaked 7 in over 15, Oli 11 in over 16 & Will Alexander had the misfortune to disappear for 24  as Gibson struck mighty blows way over long on, mid wicket & square leg, awesome hitting ! We couldn't seem to find a yorker or maybe a change of pace.

A further 6 to mid wicket off Will Phillips to mid wicket saw the total rise to match the Bulls total of 158. A single from the first ball of the 19th over sealed the win for Marton by 6 wickets. Ryan Gibson 82* (49b 2x4 9x6)

A disappointing end to the T20 journey but all praise to the players for getting to this stage in a successful season who then offered most grateful thanks to the travelling Bulls support who made themselves heard & are so pleased to see them do well.
