Not the best day for the 1864's, lost the toss, asked to bat & 49 all out in the 29 th over.

A sobering day at Greenside, being asked to bat, the first ball stroked for 4 but all downhill thereafter. On a slow wicket, against steady bowling, in attempting to score & be positive, batters seemed only able to offer catching practice. 6 caught, 3 bowled, 1 run out & only a partnership of 20 from 22-6, between Patrick Hatcher (14) & Ahmer Hameed, saved a little face.
Injuries & availability notwithstanding, we are better than this ! We must learn patience & adopt batting styles suited to the surfaces in front of us. They are not all like the indoor centre at South North !!
A chance to bounce back next Sat 14 th May, away to Belsay. Hard practice needed to improve & be happy to have played a full game. Onward please!
