1864's won by 62 runs, ¼ final v Stamfordham (a) Thurs 18th June, 1800, 20/20.

 

The Bulls won the toss & chose to bat on a pleasant sunny evening at Belsay. Aadi Bethanabatla & Olly Alexander faced the seam of Mapa (lm) & Hari (rm). After 3 overs the total was 26 with Aadi hitting 4x4 +1x6 & Olly 1x4. 

 

At 67 in the 8th over Aadi (35) pushing forward, was bowled by Chowdhury's slow left arm, one that bounced a little more than expected. Christil (rm) & Alla (ob) joined the attack as Will Carr hit a boundary an over for 4 overs. Then in the 14th Olly (36) advanced to clip Chowdhury into the legside but missed & was stumped by w/k Hunter, 101-2.

 

Will struck 3x4 in the 15th off Alla straight & to leg but then in the 16th after Fraser Hall had  driven for 4 & Will taken 4 then 6, Fraser (10) drove Alla to mid wicket, 130-3. Will & Belinda attacked taking 54 from the last three overs, Will 66* (38b, 11x4 1x6) a pleasing return to form, & Belinda 23* (15b, 1x4 2x6). The innings clod at 184-3.

 

In reply Christil & Alla faced the seam of Sam Lee (rm) & Tom Oliver (lm). A wicket for Sam with his 4th delivery as Christil (0) edged high over slip where a retreating Aadi took the catch, 1-1.

 

George McConnell & Leo Harper took up the attack in over7. & in the next Alla (25) edged Leo high to w/k Fraser's right where he took an excellent catch in two hands, 45-2. In the next Salam (14) drove George to point where Beinda held the first of his three catches, 48-3.

 

In over 12 a double success for Leo as  first Hari (12) slashed to point where Belinda obliged & 2 balls later Das (7) was caught by Will Carr at deep cover, 68-5. In Matthew Smith's first over Shivana (1) was caught by Belinda at mid wicket & in the next Chowdhury (2) defending,  was bowled by Jacques Graham, 72-7.

 

Kumer struck a boundary but the innings ended at 112-8 after the 20 overs, a win by 60 runs. The fielding had been good, Olly at cover, Will on the boundary, Fraser behind the stumps & Belinda with three catches supported by others. Ten wides something to try to eradicate. A quarter final at Stamfordham awaits on Thursday 18th June. We wish  the team well.
