The Newcastle Cricket Centre is a unique cricket specific centre and is built within the grounds of South Northumberland Cricket Club in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Newcastle Cricket Centre offers:

One to one coaching sessions as well as the club’s Winter and Pre Season Programmes
Indoor tournaments and annual Club Leagues and Business Leagues
State of the art practice facilities for senior club, university, county, school, junior club and even international cricketers

Coaching

The Newcastle Cricket Centre provides a wide variety of coaching courses, specifically designed to suit people of all ages and abilities. All our coaching staff are ECB qualified and CRB checked to comply with out SafeHands policy. The majority of our coaches currently play or have played 1st class cricket for County Durham.

Advanced Coaching Course (Oct-Dec)

The course is designed for current county players and those aspiring to be so and is open to anyone aged 10 -18 years. Coaching will be delivered on a 2:1 ratio to allow very specific coaching to meet each individual participant’s needs.

Pre season Coaching Course (Jan-Mar)

Coaching for 10 – 15 year olds that covers all aspects of the game in preparation for the season ahead.

Junior Coaching (All Year Round)

Coaching for 5 – 9 year olds and Under 11′s focusing on developing hand/eye coordination and spatial awareness.

One to One Coaching (All Year Round)

Any player of any age can benefit from our specialised one to one coaching sessions. Ideal for those players wanting to improve and develop at their own pace.

Holiday Coaching Courses

Courses for 7 – 13 year olds run throughout school breaks such as Easter, Christmas and half term.

The Newcastle Cricket Centre is renowned for its exceptionally high level of coaching and it is largely due to this, that people keep coming back time and time again.

Business League

Games are 6-a-side and teams can be made up from staff, customers, business contacts as well as friends and family. The Business League is all about enjoyment, fun and participation therefore it doesn’t matter if you play cricket regularly, haven’t play for years, have only ever played a few times or never played cricket before it is open to everyone aged over 14, male or female.

Two umpires will be provided and a bag of cricket equipment will be available for players to use each evening if required.

Club League

The Newcastle Cricket Centre host a 6-a-side league for senior club teams.

League games take place on Sunday evenings beginning mid-January, with the finals nights in mid-April (dependant upon number of teams). Two umpires will be provided and a bag of cricket equipment will be available on loan for the evening if required.

Lane and Hall Hire costs

At the Newcastle Cricket Centre, there are five net lanes, one dedicated to spin bowlers, and four for seam bowlers. They all have 17m cushioned run-ups to ensure minimum impact for bowlers.
